Merle Erikson

Prof. Merle Erikson (Dr. Iur.) graduated from the University of Tartu in 1994. The doctor iuris degree was conferred on her in 2001. During the period 1994 to 2011, Merle Erikson was a lecturer and an associate professor of Labour and Social Security Law at the School of Law of the University of Tartu. Since 2011 she has been a Labour Law Professor at the University of Tartu. Her main areas of study and teaching are Estonian Labour Law, International Labour Law, Comparative Labour Law and the European Union Social Policy and Labour Law. Professor Merle Erikson has carried out research at various universities in Europe and Asia. She has published over 100 publications and participated in dozens of international and Estonian research projects. Merle Erikson has been involved in drafting Estonian labour laws.
